Stadium Clear Bag Policies & Match Day Essentials for All 2026 FIFA World Cup Venues
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway across 16 venues in the US, Mexico, and Canada. With massive crowds, tight security, and different climates at each host city, knowing the exact rules for what you can bring into the stadiums will help you avoid long delays, denied entry, or unnecessary stress on match day.
FIFA has implemented a uniform clear bag policy at all venues for faster and safer entry. Here’s everything travelers need to know, plus venue-specific tips.
Universal Clear Bag Policy (Applies to All 16 Stadiums)
- Approved bags: Only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags are allowed, with a maximum size of 12" x 6" x 12" (30 cm x 15 cm x 30 cm). A small clear tote or stadium-approved fanny pack works best.
- Small personal item: One additional non-clear clutch purse or wallet (max 4.5" x 6.5", roughly hand-sized) is permitted.
- No bag storage: Most stadiums do not offer storage lockers, so plan to leave larger items at your hotel.
Water rule: Fans can bring one sealed, soft plastic disposable water bottle (up to 20 oz / 590 ml) in US and Canada venues. Hard-sided reusables are not allowed.

- Large umbrellas, backpacks, opaque bags, professional cameras with large lenses, selfie sticks, drones, noisemakers (vuvuzelas, air horns), outside food/drinks (beyond the allowed water), glass, cans, and seat cushions with pockets.
- Weapons, fireworks, flares, or anything that could be used as a projectile.
