There’s nothing better than forgetting the stresses and strains of everyday life and hitting a few golf balls. For the ultimate golfing experiences, you can now book holidays to courses situated across the globe. Here is a quick rundown of some of the very best destinations for the sport.

Portugal’s neighbour Spain is also a superb destination. Some of the best courses in the country can be found in Almeria, the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz on the south coast.

It’s possible to play golf year-round in this Mediterranean sun-soaked nation. However, if you want guaranteed warmth in winter, it’s worth travelling to the Spanish Canary Islands of Tenerife or Gran Canaria.

Bulgaria is now a hugely popular holiday spot for golfing enthusiasts, particularly in summer. The country offers excellent value hotels and a range of first-class courses. Meanwhile, after a day’s driving, pitching and putting, you can hit the town and enjoy Bulgaria’s party atmosphere. One of the nation’s best-known courses is Thracian Cliffs on the Black Sea coast. This was the venue of the Volvo World Match Play 2013 and it received high praise from many professional golfers.

Another superb destination is Cyprus. Boasting stunning scenery, plenty of sunshine and a variety of golf courses, this island has long been a mecca for golf fans. You can enjoy year-round trips to this location. The main hub for all-inclusive golf holidays is the Paphos region, which benefits from four courses. One of these is the Elea Golf Course. Offering an extremely high standard of golf, it was designed by Nick Faldo.

Portugal has an impressive pedigree when it comes to golf and the Algarve region offers a variety of courses that are ideal for everyone ranging from beginners to experts. It’s true that all inclusive golf breaks are a relatively new concept in the area. However, there is plenty of top-quality accommodation on offer and you can take your pick from a host of different courses. This means you shouldn’t struggle to book a golf holiday that perfectly meets your needs.

Nothing in Dubai is done by halves, and golfing is no exception. The emirate is home to some of the most high-end hotels and golf courses in the world. You can expect to pay handsomely for the privilege of teeing off in this part of the UAE, but this should prove to be money well spent. Dubai’s courses are among the very best on the planet and you will experience a level of luxury and pampering that is second to none.

For a golfing break with bags of culture, it’s hard to beat Morocco. As well as fabulous courses, this North African nation offers fascinating cities brimming with bars and restaurants. You can choose between the destinations of Marrakech and Agadir. Both of these destinations offer a favourable climate, excellent golf courses and top-quality hotels.

Bear in mind that these are just a selection of the superb golfing destinations on offer. There are many more that are worth investigating too.
